Iyla Sings About War + Raindrops On Debut EP #UnderTheRadar

Iyla was brought to my attention less than a year ago as a singer / songwriter that was worth checking out. By the time I looked her up, she had released her debut project, an EP entitled War + Raindrops. On it, five soultry R&B tracks each with enough to stand on their own as a quality single, packaged together as a perfect introduction to Iyla. It’s an ode to the ups and downs most can experience when dealing with long-term relationships.

Shampoo Shows Iyla Ending A Long Overdue Relationship

One of the later releases from War + Rain Drops, Iyla drops the Shampoo video full of symbolic imagery. Using the melody made famous on Pharcyde’s Running, Shampoo is the perfect post break up cheer up song.

On Juice, she finds love. She wasn’t ready but when you got the juice, you got the juice, baby.

Juice was the song that convinced me Iyla was a dope singer/songwriter. The familiarity of the melody on Shampoo drew me in, but this one gets the most play.

Were almost certain if you enjoy R&B, you’ve liked what you’ve heard so far. Do yourself a favor and check out the full EP below.
