T-Pain VS Lil Jon Battle | Round Recap
To date, this was likely the most entertaining battle to watch so far. Despite having amazing personalities, on first glance it seemed like an odd pair for a battle. Lil Jon is known mostly for his production and T-Pain is known mostly for his vocals. Nevertheless, the one thing the two have in common is a lot of hit records. Lets jump into this T-Pain vs Lil Jon battle and see how the two did against each other.
T-Pain vs Lil Jon – 20 Rounds | Each Round Win = 1 Point
Round 1: Kanye West Ft. T-Pain – Good Life vs Lil Jon & The Eastside Biyz Ft. Ying Yang Twinz – Low
Winner: DRAW
There was no way one of these were winning over the other. 1st round out and we have a draw, so 1 point each.
Round 2: Flo-Rida Ft. T-Pain – Low vs Usher Ft. Ludacris & Lil Jon – Yeah!
Winner: DRAW
Round 2, and our second draw so far. Both of these songs have their part in party history. Therefore it’s one point each for T-Pain & Lil Jon
Round 3: T-Pain Ft. B.O.B. – Up Down vs Ying Yang Twins Ft Lil Jon – Salt Shaker
Winner: Ying Yang Twins – Salt Shaker
We have our first official round win! Up, Down definitely did work in the clubs, but Salt Shaker is a party classic. This one’s an easy call.
Round 4: T-Pain – Booty Wurk. vs Lil Scrappy – No Problems
Winner: Lil Scrappy – No Problems
Not as close as the previous round, but still a good match up. Lil Scrappy helped usher in a new sound with this song so it gets the win. To T-Pains credit, the way he rode the 808s during the breakdowns was nothing less than greatness.
Round 5: DJ Khaled – I’m So Hood vs Lil Jon Ft. Pastor Troy – Throw It Up
Winner: DJ Khaled – I’m So Hood
This might come to where you’re from or where you were when these two dropped. Giving the edge to DJ Khaled, but Pastor Troy did his thing on Throw It Up
Round 6: Lil Wayne Ft T-Pain – Got Money. vs Youngbloodz – Damn
Winner: Youngbloodz – Damn
A-Town Stomp. Should we say any more?
Round 7: DJ Khaled – Go Hard vs Capleton Tour
Winner: Capleton Tour
The element of surprise gave Lil Jon the competitive edge in this round. It was the first “he did that?” moment of the battle.
Round 8: Pitbull Ft T-Pain – Hey Baby vs Pitbull Ft. Lil Jon – The Anthem
Winner: Pitbull Ft Lil Jon – The Anthem
Lil Jon answered a Pitbull record with his own Pitbull record in this round. Both great songs that dominated radio and the clubs but The Anthem is well, an anthem. Without a doubt another point for Lil Jon
Round 9: T-Pain – 5 O’clock vs Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz – I Don’t Give A
Winner: Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz – I Don’t Give A
It’s almost unfair the way this round was won. Before the start, he suggested they play something for the ladies. Following the suggestion T-Pain chose 5 O’Clock which in context was a great pick. Once it was Lil Jon’s turn he switched up and played a hood anthem. Obviously a dirty move, but hey its a battle!
Round 10: Rick Ross Ft. T-Pain The Boss vs Trick Daddy Ft Big D & Twista – Lets Go
Winner: Trick Daddy Ft Big D & Twista – Let’s Go
It’s almost unfair the way this round was won. Before the start, he suggested they play something for the ladies. Following the suggestion T-Pain chose 5 O’Clock which in context was a great pick. Once it was Lil Jon’s turn he switched up and played a hood anthem. Obviously a dirty move, but hey its a battle!
Round 11: T-Pain – I’m Sprung vs Petey Pablo – Freek-A-Leek
Winner: Petey Pablo – Freek-A-Leek
This round was a little different but a close round, none the less. It was the battle’s first 2-for-1 if you will. During T-Pain’s round he kicked it off with I’m Sprung, then blended it into the newly remixed version by Tory Lanes, Jerry Sprunger. Following this move, Lil Jon kicked off his round with Saweeties My Type and blended that into Petey Pablo’s Freek-A-Leek.
Round 12: Chris Brown – Kiss Kiss vs Ciara Goodies
Winner: DRAW
Every round so far has been close and this one was no different. Along with being 2 of the most popular songs at the time, both have stood the test of time. Some might take Goodies for the win but we’re going with the draw.
Round 13: T-Pain & Lil Wayne – Can’t Believe It vs Trillville Ft Cutty – Some Cut
Winner: TrilleVille Ft Cutty – Some Cut
Every round so far has been close and this one was no different. Along with being 2 of the most popular songs at the time, both have stood the test of time. Not an easy decision but ultimately Goodies came out victorious.
Round 14: Unk – 2 Step (rmx) vs Fat Joe – Lean Back (rmx)
Winner: Fat Joe – Lean Back (rmx)
We love 2 Step, but come on. Lean Back marked the first return of Ma$e, Eminen going to work on the beat and Lil Jon killing the intro with 6 words.
Round 15: R. Kelly – I’ma Flirt (rmx) vs Daddy Yankee – Gasolina (rmx)
Winner: Daddy Yankee – Gasolina (rmx)
The comments went off when T-Pain dropped the R. Kelly track but he was ready for it. In all fairness, he did kill his verse on the song. Despite this fact, Lil Jon dropped a track that arguably helped introduce the non-latin world to Reggaeton.
Round 16: Jamie Foxx Ft. T-Pain Blame It vs LMFAO Shots
Winner: LMFAO Shots
Both great songs. One dominated the clubs and help change the sound of nightlife, even if it were only for a short while. Shots for the win!
Round 17: T-Pain Ft Akon – Bartender vs Too Short – Blow The Whistle
Winner: Too Short – Blow The Whistle
Both great songs. However, one dominated the clubs and help change the sound of nightlife, even if it were only for a short while. Shots for the win!
Round 18: T-Pain Ft. Mike Jones I’m N Luv (With A Stripper) vs Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz Ft Usher & Ludacris – Lovers & Friends
Winner: T-Pain Ft. Mike Jones I’m N Luv (With A Stripper)
This is the song that kicked off the career of the artist who changed the sound of pop music as we know it. Therefore it gets the W. A true classic.
Round 19: T-Pain Ft. Yung Joc Buy U A Drink vs Youngbloodz – Snap Ya Fingers
Winner: T-Pain Ft. Yung Joc Buy U A Drink
A battle of the Snap songs! Absolutely another close round with these two picks. Giving it to T-Pain simply because this song was EVERYWHERE when it dropped.
Round 20: DJ Khaled All I Do Is Win vs DJ Snake Ft. Lil Jon Turn Down For What
Winner: DJ Khaled – All I Do Is Win
Oh, the controversy! This round could go either way. However for us its All I Do Is Win. Without a doubt both songs are club anthems but play this in a crowd and people are still making their hands go up. Classic
Final Score: T-Pain – 4 | Lil Jon – 13 | Draw Rounds 3
That Wraps Up all 20 rounds! In conclusion, each round was close. There wasn’t a single moment where one song was obviously better than the other. It was the most entertaining battle of the series so far. Thank you to Swizz Beats and Timbaland for putting it together
Oh, the controversy! This round could go either way. For us, its All I Do Is Win. Without a doubt both songs are club anthems but play this in a crowd and people are still making their hands go up. Classic
